Our Heritage And Our HopesMar Thoma College for Women, situated in the municipal area of Perumbavoor, is the dream child of the late Thomas Mar Athanasius Suffragon Metropolitian of the Mar Thoma Church. A visionary, Thirumeni had foreseen that this college would cater to the educational needs of the girls of the rural and suburban villages, in and around Perumbavoor. The college is owned by the Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association. Most Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostum, Metropolitan of the Mar Thoma Church is the Patron of the College. Rt. Rev. Geevarghese Mar Athanasius is the present Manager of the college and the Chairman of the Governing Council. The college affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, started functioning in 1982 as a junior college with two groups of Pre Degree course. In 1991 it was upgraded into a degree college. |
